As a quant researcher

Okay, you're right. I'm a quant researcher, working in a finance company developing computer algorithms to maximize the profit of my employee in the market, a zero-sum playground.

 

So you say the market is a zero-sum game, and we only prosper on the sacrifice of other naive investors. You say we do not generate any real value but prey upon others.

 

So what? Maybe what you're saying is correct. So what? I don't work for humanity as a whole or anything. I've never claimed that my work will positively impact the whole world. I do not aim for such things. Maybe I'm a selfish individual, but what I'm doing is completely legal. Are you trying to say that I'm wrong just because I'm not a philanthropist like Jesus, Budda, or Confucious?
